Pausing Our Day Program

Dear Sunflower Family,

Considering the recent outbreak of Corona Virus in Hudson County, we are temporarily pausing our program starting Thursday March 19, 2020.

The decision to pause our program was not an easy one to make. However, considering the information from health officials, and city officials, we saw that this the only way we can protect our members, team, and community.

For the past month our team has been closely monitoring the development of this virus, and have subsequently taken every possible precaution across all our departments. Some of the precautions we took, early on, directly affected the services you and your loved ones have to come to rely on; day trips, guest speakers, beauty services, and entertainment, were all temporarily paused to avoid unnecessary community exposure. However, now, as the numbers of cases in Hudson county continue to grow, as well the recent announcements from The City of Bayonne, and The City of Jersey City, we have decided that the only next step in helping protect our beloved community would be to pause our program until further notice.

We understand that this change may cause additional challenges for you, but please be aware that this novel corona virus is disproportionately affecting the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. We need to take all possible action to protect our loved ones.

We will be available by phone, and email to help navigate you during these times.

This virus WILL spread if the communities we live in continue to have gatherings, it will spread if we don’t wash our hands, and cover our mouths when we cough. Follow the guidelines, protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community.

Get prepared. As fellow caregivers, we realize that these times may seem confusing. However, precaution is always better than panic. That is why we’re urging you to.

Refill ALL of your loved one’s medication ASAP.
